Whistler Sliding Centre, 20 + SRW and MSE Walls

Whistler Sliding Centre, 20 + SRW and MSE WallsDavies Geotechnical Inc. was honoured to be selected to be a part of the 2010 construction on Whistler Mountain in 2005 and 2006. DGI joint ventured with Nilex Corporation to provide the general contractor Emil Anderson Construction with solutions to a wide range of slope stability and slope retention challenges for the Whistler Sliding Center Project.

During our two years of work on this interesting project DGI provided engineering design services and field review services for the construction of 20 or more geogrid reinforced slopes and geogrid reinforced retaining walls. The walls ranged in height from 2m to 15m and were generally located in sloping terrain conditions with limited space to place the geotextile reinforcement. Many of these slopes and wall provide support for the Mens and Womens Bobsled Run.
